USG TO MEG

Merchants of disaster are counting their chickens again. This season also, ABC of hurricanes is expected to strike the US Gulf with usual impunity, rendering the upstream and downstream, in the area, to disruption as usual.

Tanker trade, which is getting squeezed under its own deadweight, is seeing it as the last opportunity to get on to its knees before the count of ten and declared K.O.

While world trade is limping, gamblers still see a strong hand in commodities. With ample tonnage available at discount, hoarding appears to be the best option. Most of the financial Gurus see another contango run in offing.

However, this time Bill Gates Inc. have drafted a careful Beta reply to this routine Beaufort abuse. But the trillion dollar question is whether it would work or the weather itself holds a surprise for the hoarders in store?

In case both fail, Iran may be in for trouble. Nuclear prowess of Iran is a bigger truth than Iraq's WMD. Third world may be the mute spectator to yet another strategic power play in the ME Gulf.
